Delicious & Healthy Smoothie Recipe for Spring

Hey Friends! It is finally that season where everyone is trying to get a bit healthier. (Well we should always be working toward health, but tighter and shorter clothes tends to give that desire a little push.) Swapping delicious and healthy recipes for the summer has always been a favorite past time of mine. I absolutely love fiddling around in the kitchen, combining different ingredients and creating some yummy treats. This is one of my favs for a healthy and delicious snack as the weather is starting to get a bit warmer.


The incredible Strawberry Mango Smoothie!

Ingredients needed:
Almond Milk
Fage Greek Yogurt
Frozen Strawberry
Frozen Mango
Frozen Blueberry
Chia Seeds


First I grab my awesome magic bullet and throw in the strawberries, mangoes, and blueberries. I like to use the frozen fruit because then you don't really need to add any ice and it still maintains that frozen smoothie consistency. Then I add about two spoonfuls of the Fage Greek yogurt to the top, but this is really just a matter of preference for the amount. This yogurt really helps create a good amount of thickness to the texture of your treat.


Next you're going to pour in the almond milk. I like to fill up the bullet about half way and then I sprinkle the chia seeds on top. I tend to be the kind of person who eyeballs everything (not even joking, everything when it comes to cooking) so there aren't exact measurements for these. Ya just create it the way you like it. I love adding chia seeds to my smoothies as they are a nice source of protein and, being a vegetarian, I need to add protein to my diet through alternative routes. They are also a great source of fiber and once they are blended up, they simply compliment the flavor of the fruit well. 


Blend it all up! Now if I'm being honest, it never just perfectly blends the way a picture may elude that it does. So my little trick is to tip the bullet from one side and then slowly to the other. This mixes the fruit a bit better and helps to get all of the chunks evenly chopped. 


Once it's all blended, place this incredibly tasting snack into your favorite glass and enjoy!
