What I Would Do if I Only Had 24 Hours to Live

In a life built around busy schedules and endless to-do lists, we sometimes lose sight of the things that are truly important to us. To regain that vision, I believe it is helpful to pose the question,

"What would you do if you only had 24 hours to live?"

I first read a post like this on the lovely Caroline Teselle's blog. (If you've never read any of her stuff you absolutely need to check her out!) And the whole concept really started my brain moving.

I think that this question is both heavy and simple all at the same time. The very first thing that comes to mind is my parent's house down in Florida and there is truly nowhere else in the world I would rather be.

So I would gather up the entirety of my friends and family, drag them down to Florida, and have a massive beach and pool party.

I love the beach, I love lying out in the sun, I love my friends and family, and I love being in a place that is truly home to me. Florida it is!

Then I would spend time building into the relationships that meant the world to me. Speaking knowledge and wisdom, laughing and goofing off, and truly enjoying each and every face that surrounded me.

The relationships I have created on this earth are some of the most precious jewels of my life and sowing love into them would be my one and only desire for my last day here (and the sun of course).

Now I know what some of you are saying, "Danielle, this sounds alot like your wedding." Bingo!

I loved absolutely everything about my wedding. The friends and family, sun, laughter, and love that was apart of the week. It was all a true blessing to Josh and I.

I would make sure that the people surrounding me knew that I was happy to be headed home to my Jesus. That this wasn't a goodbye, but a, see you later.

And then at the end of the day I would curl up in Josh's arms and tell him how much I love him for being the world's greatest husband.

What would you do if you only had 24 hours to live?
